may wrap-up
reading recap, monthly favorites, & media reflections
yes, this post is late. yes, i failed to adhere to my committed posting schedule this month. the perfectionist in me is screaming that i should just give this up completely now that i’ve failed one time to meet the completely arbitrary expectations i set for myself—i’m desperately fighting that nay-saying bitch off my back (figuratively).
i’ve got to remind myself that when i don’t have time to write, it means i’m living. and i can’t punish myself for that.
so here i am. late. but here all the same. and darling, we read some good shit this month.
let’s get into it. (spoiler free, btw)
in case you missed this month’s posts…
genre hopper: exploration of the unknown
unfortunately, i read much faster than i write, so this week i’m serving up a 3 for 1 review special:
books
currently reading:
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - this kind of reminds me of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig only way more violent
read this month:
Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer (read my review here!)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (review incoming)
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson (review incoming)
tv
currently watching:
The X-Files (Season 8) - my man Mulder is finally back, can everyone just kiss now please?
finished this month:
nothing because apparently i love watching shows that have a million fucking seasons and take forever to get through
substack articles
here are some of my favorite articles I read this month on substack:
& that’s a wrap for may! see you in june :)
